You're driving down the road and you pull up behind a car at a stop light. You notice that the car in front of you is the exact same model as yours and appears to have been just washed. It has that appearance of a car enthusiast who "baby's" his car. You look into his rear view mirror, only to see him checking out your ride and its custom fanciness as you come to a stop. He's wearing dark sunglasses, but there is no doubt that he is looking right at you through that mirror now. You suddenly give him a gentle nod. He nods back. Appreciation and gratitude is complete.

No, my high beams are not on, but I can definitely see better now. That's right. They're new 6000K, diamond white HID lamps. They will burn your retinas right out of your eyes. They took some work and customization to get installed but it worked and I'm proud. Never again will I wonder if that deer is crossing the road up ahead. You may have also notice that I took the Audi logo off of my old grille and put it on the new RS4 grille. It just says "Look at my 4 rings and you will know and fear me!"

A rare beauty

I about crapped my pants when I saw this beauty parked near me. It's an amazing Audi R8. This car is packed with a mid-engine, 4.2L V8 FSI. It has (of course) Quattro all wheel drive to keep all 414 horsepower on the road. People say that it's the first car to "really beat the Porsche 911." It has been awarded the "Fastest Car" and "Best Handling Car" of 2007 by Autocar magazine. Needless to say, this car rocks pants...big time. I can't decide if I would rather have this car or the RS4. They have the same engine. I would probably choose the one that suited my later lifestyle and have some good comfort. That's why I think I would choose the RS4 even though the R8 is better...handsdown.

Yeah...the picture does some pretty good justice. I put a Audi vanity plate on to cover up that vanity plat frame because I can't get rid of it. Still rusted on. Smoked out the headlights and put some yellow 5000K xenon HID bulbs in for the fogs. Looks great and is actually very helpful.

Lean, mean, new grille Machine

Check the new RS4 grille. Yeah, it rocks pants. Not only does it look B.A., it also has a lot better airflow than the old stock A4 grille. Don't worry. Since I can't remove the front license plate mount, I will still have the Audi logo out front once I get an Audi plate.

I have done quite a few sweet things the A4 since I last blogged. For starters, I cleared the corners of the headlights (the lame-colored amber plates). It looks a lot better but took a lot of work. I put on some eyebrows on the lights. It looks more aggressive now. I also added a spoiler. It's just the little lip because it's the best looking one (and it's cheap as crap). A friend of mine did the painting for a cheap price because he's awesome. I am really proud of the way it looks now but it's nowhere near completion.

I discovered an Audi concept today. It's called the R-Zero. Sounds fast, right? Well, what if I told you it is powered by electricity? You would think that this car would struggle to get to 60 mph. Well think again. The R-Zero is packed with not 1 electric motor but 4, one for each wheel, which produces an astonishing 1091 hp at 12900 rpm and 2168 lbs-ft of torque! That floats my boat. The R-Zero goes from 0 to 62 mph in under 3 seconds and is estimated to top out at 286 mph. It has just 4.4 lbs. for every 1 horsepower. And of course it's a sweet Audi so it has Quattro AWD. This would be a dream to own because there is no gas but plenty of power. If I had to choose a car to make love to, this would be the one. :)

The powerful S4

Nearly identical in appearance to the A4, the Audi S4 brings a lot more power to the table. Packing a 2.7L bi-turbo engine, this beast goes 0-100 km/h (62mph) in just 5.6 seconds. It comes standard with quattro AWD and optional tiptronic 5-speed. Though the stock horsepower is 265 hp, the boost on the two turbos can be raised to produce just over 300 hp! Of course, this B5 model is my favorite. It's the only model with a twin turbo rather than just the large V8 and it looks just like my A4. The body is a little lower due to the awesome stock body kit you can see as compared to the front of my A4. This is pretty much my dream car. It's fast without using a large engine. It's roomy with 4 doors. and it has AWD. And this just happens to be the same color as mine.

FRICKIN TURKEY!!!

Sorry for the harsh language but I now despise turkeys. My A4's windshield is now shattered thanks to one unfortunate turkey (which must have been mentally unstable). I am driving down a highway doing 60 mph when I spot this turkey running away from the road like any smart creature should do. But don't let this suicidal R-tard fool you. He quickly changes course and heads directly to the center of the road. Of course my natural instinct is to swerve away (to the left) and I had hoped the turkey would be smart enough to turn back around but then again he decided to dart to the center of the road in the first place... The turkey follows my path directly and just before I'm about to plow his feathered arse over, he jumps into the air and takes a plunge toward my windshield. I would like to say turkeys all over the world "You're welcome." You're welcome for the increase in your species' intelligence due to the killing of your most intelligence-lacking bird-friend as committed by me. It cost me $300, a week without my A4, and a bloody elbow, but you're welcome. The photo was taken with my cell. (Click to enlarge)

Smooth Operator

When I got my car, I knew that I was going to need to change the spark plugs. I figured that they haven't been changed in a long time and they looked that way when I removed them. I decided to go with some NGK V-power plugs because of a recommendation. Thanks to a4mods.com, I was able to easily change them myself. The old plugs were actually NGK's as well with the Audi and Volkswagen logos on them. I thought that was pretty sweet. The new plugs make the car run so smoothly now and added a few lost horsepower due to the old worn plugs.

Restoring the looks

The first thing that I noticed when I got my car was that the paint on the bottom grille (circled in top photo) was chipped away and looked terrible. I knew right away that I was going to paint it. It just took a while to get to it. It was very simple and was just about free. I had the only material that I needed already: black spray paint. I popped the grille off, which is a little harder than it sounds, washed it, dried it, then spray-painted it. Now, my grille has its original solid black, clean look to it. RS6?...family car my butt!

The Audi RS6. The most powerful family car on the road. Packing a 5.0L bi-turbo V10 FSI, this beast pushes out a whopping 573 BHP. I don't know about you, but I think that this is a sweet family car. It goes 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.6 seconds. What makes this an obvious family car is that it's electronically governed to top-out at 155 mph. Screw that! I would take that crap off because this car could easily break 200 mph. Besides, isn't that what the autobahn is for? Of course, the RS6 comes standard with the Quattro AWD system with 40:60 front-to-rear torque split. The RS6 is only available with tiptronic 6-speed automatic which is pretty sweet. All in all, I want this car. It looks so awesome to drive! (click to enlarge image)

Quattro Symbol?

Yes, it is a Quattro and I don't know where the Quattro symbol for the grille is. It didn't have one when I bought the car. I want to buy one if anyone knows where I can find it. Leave a comment to let me know if anyone knows where I can find one. I like to show-off my sweet AWD. The car in the picture obviously isn't mine but you can see where the symbol is supposed to be. For those of you wondering, my A4 that you see in the top picture will be eventually modified. I can't even begin to explain what all is going to happen to it in the next few years. Right now the bank of Shark is a little small stacked and he has bills to pay. I got an early, cheap start on it, though, by repainting the bottom grille its original color, black. It was almost solid grey from debris wearing it away. I will eventually change the picture above to the most recent of the A4 so you can watch the progress. And this blog will now become devoted to Audi cars and the progress of my A4 1.8T Quattro.
